Legacy: The Unrest of Egypt

Image (GETTY)

Since the dawn of time, definitely the dawn of “our” time… Egypt has existed. From approximately 3100 BC, history was forever changed. Egypt being the epicenter of Knowledge, Power, Conception, & Corruption. The absolute depiction of good & evil, frequently makes it’s way into headlines every “so-often”.

Egypt was a highly spiritual place. One could only imagine the aura of the land alone. So many powerful figures lived and died there. Dynasty after Dynasty. African Kings and Queens.

Ancient Egypt consists of the following periods:

Predynastic Period

Archaic Period (Early Dynastic)

The Old Kingdom

The Middle Kingdom

The New Kingdom

Egypt has a history that spans for at least 30 centuries. Such a long history that is directly correlated with the longest river in the world.

Let’s talk about the breath of the Nile for a second. How amazing is it that life was centered around this body of water. Water of which we all come from, as water is 60% of our composition. The heart and brain 73%, the lungs 83%. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are a watery 31%.

The Nile was the epicenter of society. The political atmosphere was formed around control of the Nile. Civilization used the Niles inundation period to plan agriculture. The people could weather a drought, disease, or famine through a properly planed grow season. The home to early irrigation, the Nile grew some of the most prosperous plants. Including Papyrus. The original loose-leaf to storytellers.

The Ancient Egyptians expressed so much gratitude to the Gods. As the land and water could not be that of science but, of divinity. Such great thinkers they were. As we all know, you must be grateful, you must have faith, you must believe in something. The Ancient Egyptians were great Philosophers, Kings & Queens, Artists and Visionaries. They had all the things that have impacted modern day civilization. Conflict & War included.

We won’t take you too deep into a history lesson. Although, we encourage you to add Ancient Egypt to your Constant Study List. We are making that a “thing”.

The most unbelievable, remarkable traces of Ancient Egypt left behind are not the Sphinx, not the Pyramids, not the Hieroglyphs (yeah we know, those all are pretty amazing) but, the time and attention to detail they put in laying their bodies to rest. The idea that the way you treat the body in death is tied to the journey of the soul in the afterlife. The want to preserve the body and its final resting place.

Recently, a massive burial ground holding the remains of several High Priests of Ancient Egypt , along with their Assistants has been discovered in the Northern part of the site Tuna el-Gebel. (Jan. 30)

This begs the question,

“Why do we keep disturbing these burial sites?”

These ancient remains have lasted thousands of centuries. Then we come along and dig them up out of sheer curiosity or…were the Ancient Egyptians knowingly preserving their legacy for us to come along and learn from them? After all, they are the Great Teachers of civilization.
